The bride and groom hold a vase with coloured sand inside, each of them with a different colour. Both place the sand in another vessel, blending them inseparably, symbolizing the new family they are forming.

Wine ritual

Another symbolic and free ritual, in which the celebrant offers a glass of wine to each partner. One will have the red wine and the other white wine. Then both pour the wine into a third cup. Each of them drink one sip and then the celebrant wraps the cup in a white cloth and asks the bride and groom to break the cup with their feet, consuming the union.

Celtic Ritual

The Celts, an ancient people who lived in Britain in the year 2000 b.C., held their weddings in the open air and at night. Although it can be done in an enclosed space today, it is best to do it outdoors, to have the strength of nature, but it does not necessarily have to be night, it can be done during the day.

The guests will be around the bride and groom forming a circle. The ritual tradition is that the hands of the bride and groom are washed by water and salt. A way to banish some negativity before receiving their wedding rings. The celebrant speaks about marriage and then the couple exchange their wedding rings.

Light Ceremony

The ceremony of light or the candles ritual is done using three candles: two smaller representing the family of each groom and the third, largest, representing the new family that will be formed.

The mothers of the bride and groom deliver the candle, previously lit and in a candlestick, for each child. The couple lit together the third candle, symbolizing that the couple became one soul.

Wedding Rituals – Chest Ritual

Each godfather puts a message of happiness, joy, positivism or advice to the bride and groom, inside a chest that will be exposed and open at the altar.

The celebrant addresses a few words about the union and after the exchange of the wedding rings, the bride and groom place their vows inside the closed chest.

This chest will serve as a support to the couple for the difficult times. Whenever the couple is experiencing difficulties, they will open the chest and rely on the messages that are written. The chest in this case will serve as an amulet and should be kept forever.
